5 Things To Know: Sarasota Highland Games is Saturday

Sarasota Highland Games and Celtic Festival is Saturday at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds.

1. Break out that kilt and head over to the Sarasota Highland Games and Celtic Festival Saturday at the . Events include various stone throws, caber toss, piping, drumming, dancing as well as vendors, food and more. Tickets are $12 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free. 2. More than 500 middle and high school students representing five counties will converge on the Bradenton campus of State College of Florida on Saturday,  when SCF and the Manatee County School District host the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) District 18 Leadership Conference. More than 20 middle and high schools from DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Manatee and Sarasota counties will compete in a variety of business-related contests including impromptu speaking, entrepreneurship, digital video, job interview, and management decision making. Students who win competitions at the District level will advance to compete at the FBLA State Conference to be held in Orlando in April.

3. If you're trying to find a good deal on Super Bowl party food, is running an unadvertised special for Feb. 5. Anyone who asks for Chipotle's Burritos by the Box ordering option and places an order of 6 or more burritos for Super Bowl Sunday will get half their order for free. Orders of 50 burritos or more have to be placed 24 hours in advance, and there is a maximum of 100 burritos in an order.

4. tonight at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds. Rock Out for a Cause is a one-of-a-kind event planned and executed by local students, in which teens come together for an evening of music to show their support for a variety of international and local charities. The lineup includes favorites November Rush, Primavista, Voices, Shoebox Monsters, Tigerweather and Audea. Causes include Honor Animal Rescue, Sk8skool, To Write Love on Her Arms, Project Eliminate, and Taking Back Lives. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door and can be purchased at area schools, online, at www.rockoutforacause.com, or by calling (941) 404-5825. 

5. Straight from Washington, D.C., The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Woodwind Quintet will perform in a free concert at at 7 p.m tonight. Accompanying the Quintet on piano will be Dr. Joseph Holt, Artist-in-Residence for Faith Lutheran and Artistic Director of Gloria Musicae.  Holt retired in 2009 from The U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant, and was principal pianist for the US Army Chorus for 20 years. The concert is open to the public; no tickets are required.
