91-Year-Old Motorist and Wife OK After Hit-and-Run

Sarasota deputies want to find the driver of a black Honda that struck a Hyundai driven by a 91-year-old Sarasota man.

A 91-year-old Sarasota man and his 90-year-old wife were involved in a hit-and-run crash in their Hyundai Friday morning. But the couple was able to walk away uninjured.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Francisco Guardiani and his wife, Yvonne Guardiani, were traveling south in their 2013 Hyundai Sonata on Honore Avenue, just south of 17th Street, Friday morning.

A black Honda CRV with a female driver that was traveling north on Honore Avenue suddenly swerved into the southbound lane.

The Honda CRV's left side struck the silver Hyundai's left side. The Honda CRV then drove away from the scene of the crash.

Neither Francisco nor his wife, Yvonne, was injured in the crash. Annette Jux Ledbetter, 46, of Sarasota, a second passenger in their car, also was uninjured.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may know the identity of the hit-and-run is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol crash investigator, Trooper Trooper C. W. Hupchick at 239-938-1800.
