MetLife Foundation awards $1,000 grant to the American Cancer Society

MetLife Foundation recently awarded a Volunteer Project Fund grant of $1,000 to the American Cancer Society: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in support of a project proposed by MetLife employees who volunteer with the organization.

The project will involve the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Sarasota/Manatee walk on October 20, where 15,000 striders are anticipated to participate.

“Together, we can transform our community and fight cancer by supporting efforts towards cancer research programs,” says Gary Mesko, Managing Director of MetLife’s local office of Sarasota and Fort Myers. “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than just a walk; it describes the progress being made to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.”

The Volunteer Project Fund encourages and supports employee involvement at the local level in nonprofit organizations that work to improve the quality of life for all. Grants are made for specific projects in which MetLife employees have continuing involvement as volunteers. For a more information, please call MetLife at (941) 366-0687 or visit the office at 1819 Main St. Suite 1300, Sarasota, FL.
