
SARASOTA – Paul Gallagher, assistant principal and coordinator of the Riverview High School International Baccalaureate Program, has been named to represent IB of the Americas on the Diploma Program’s Review Committee.
The 14-member committee strategizes and supervises the direction and quality of IB Diploma Programs, consisting of some 2,400 schools in 143 countries around the world. Gallagher will represent more than 1,200 diploma programs in the 40 countries of the Americas.
Gallagher is the former president and current chair of the College Relations Committee for the Florida League of International Baccalaureate Schools.

When the Riverview IB Program was authorized in January 1999, it became the 29th IB Diploma School in Florida. There are now over 70 high school IB programs in the state.
In Sarasota County, Brookside Middle School hosts an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and Phillippi Shores Elementary School is home to an IB Primary Years Program.
