Save Our Seabirds Names Pilston Chief Executive Officer

David Pilston has been named Chief Executive Officer of , Inc., a Sarasota-based non-profit organization whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured wildlife.

A graduate of Riverview High School in Sarasota, Pilston earned his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. 

He began his career in the Information Consulting Division of Arthur Andersen in Los Angeles and later helped build and grow numerous successful technology companies in Silicon Valley, as an executive, consultant, and investor.  His former positions include Director of Education and Consulting Services for Oracle Corporation, Practice Director for Financial Systems at The Application Group, Vice President of Customer Services with Quintus Corporation, and Chief Executive Officer of Bay Systems.

He founded his own angel investment firm, Zephyr Ventures, in 1997.  Since returning to Sarasota in 2003, he has been active in numerous community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Sarasota, Riverview High School Foundation, Sarasota Family YMCA, and Sarasota Opera.

Save Our Seabirds is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization in Sarasota, Florida.  Founded in 1990, their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured wildlife.  Birds that are unable to be returned to the wild are given permanent homes at the Save Our Seabirds Visitor Center on City Island in Sarasota, which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
