Women's Retailer Evelyn & Arthur Hosts Ribbon Cutting Friday

Evelyn & Arthur, a fashion staple in Florida for close to three decades, is proud to announce their first location in Sarasota is now open and invites the community to a ribbon cutting celebration on Friday.

The family-owned company, who is known for their dedication to offering a high quality product, for their personalized service, and for their involvement in the community, is run by Adrianne Weissman, her husband Fred, and an incredible team of employees that have helped the company become a beloved staple in each community they incorporate.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Sarasota community,” said Adrianne who serves as president of Evelyn & Arthur. “Sarasota is a place of style, class, and community. We know the women here appreciate high quality merchandise that is designed for the Florida lifestyle. We are excited to share our merchandise with them, and to become a part of the community.”

Evelyn & Arthur first opened their doors in Palm Beach, Florida in 1984 when Evelyn & Arthur Lewis retired to Florida. Evelyn’s New York wardrobe didn’t fit her new lifestyle, nor could she find quality merchandise that really “fit”. The couple came out of retirement to create an exclusive private label apparel store designed to fit real women. In 2006, Adrianne and Fred took over the reins when Evelyn & Arthur retired. Sarasota will be the company’s eighth location and they are as excited as ever. Cindy Higham, who has a long line of experience managing clothing boutiques, will manage the Sarasota store located at 1480 Main Street.  

The community is invited for a ribbon cutting celebration, and meet and greet with Adrianne, Fred, and the Sarasota team, on Friday, Nov. 30 from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Also in attendance to celebrate the opening of Evelyn & Arthur's eighth location will be Mayor Suzanne Atwell and a number of city and county commissioners. Following the ribbon cutting, shoppers are invited in for champagne, light hors d ‘oeuvres, and 10% off their purchases of Evelyn & Arthur brand merchandise. Guests will also be entered into a drawing to win a $100 Evelyn & Arthur gift certificate to be used on future purchases. Additionally, 10% of proceeds of the night’s sales will be donated Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC).
