Art Center Sarasota Opens 4 New Exhibits

1. will open four new exhibits in its galleries starting today. A free public reception is tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. The galleries include:

The galleries are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays. The exhibit closes Sept. 28.
2. The Baltimore Orioles will face off against the Tampa Bay Rays in a three-game series at Tropicana Field Friday through Sunday. Friday's game includes a Luke Scott T-shirt giveaway and Sunday is a special children's day where the first 10,000 kids 14 and younger will receive a free DJ Kitty Bobblehead and after the game The Wiggles will perform a free concert.
3. Rock 'n' roll fills a love story of an interracial couple during the 1950s filled with hits by Elvis Presley. All Shook Up is a musical ode to the Shakespeare Twelfth Night storyline, and it's now playing at the , which has reinvented itself as a non-profit that offers workshops and more. The show is 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday, noon on Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

4. The Florida DanceSport Championships will take over this weekend featuring all sorts of dances and dancers that pairs professionals with amateurs and features legend Ben Vereen receiving the "Legends of Dance Award." Dances are held Thursday through Sunday. Check out the full schedule on the Championships website. 5. Orchid expert Monroe Kokin will offer tips and guidance on planting Florida native orchids and how to tend for the plants during a special workshop a tour at Selby Gardens from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Cost is $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Register online.
