'Sharknado' on the Big Screen: The made-for-TV, so-bad-it’s-good SyFy channel movie that became a social media sensation is coming to Hollywood Stadium 20, 1993 Main St., Sarasota, for a one-night-only screening at midnight Friday, Aug. 6.
Summer Sizzle at WestCoast Church: This free back-to-school bash for the community will include food provided by Outback Steakhouse, water slides, bounce houses, games, kids crafts, music and a business expo. It begins 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. The church is at 11750 U.S. 301 N. in Parrish.
Yappy Hour 2013 at Clayton's Siesta Grille: The benefit for Satchel's Last Resort Animal Shelter & Sanctuary will include a buffet, unlimited beer and wine, live entertainment, a raffle and a silent auction.
