Battie, Felton Advance To Sarasota City Commission Nov. 5 Election

SARASOTA, FL — Incumbent Kyle Battie and Sequoia Felton advanced to the Nov. 5 general election for the Sarasota City Commission District 1 seat, the city said in a news release.

Battie received 813 or nearly 43 percent of all votes in Tuesday’s primary election, while Felton took home 724 or 38 percent of the votes, according to unofficial results from the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections website.

A third challenger, Melissa Furman, earned 366 or 19 percent of the votes.

Battie and Felton move on to the Nov. 5 ballot as the top two vote-getters Tuesday.
