Bike Stolen from Visually Impaired Paratriathlon Athlete: Sarasota Police

The victim reported that on Oct. 10 his white with red stripe tandem Cannondale racing bicycle was stolen.

SARASOTA, FL - Sarasota police are asking for the public’s help in locating a bicycle that was stolen from a visually impaired paratriathlon athlete on October 10, according to a police report. The victim reported that sometime between 2 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 10 his white with red stripe tandem Cannondale racing bicycle was stolen from his room at the Quality Inn, 4800 North Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.

The bicycle was not locked at the time. The bicycle is valued at $8,000.

The victim is from Chile and was town for the Sarasota/Bradenton World Cup paratriathlon that was held on Oct. 8 on Bradenton Beach. The victim is visually impaired and uses a guide while racing.
