Chef Who Boiled Wife Interviewed on '48 Hours' Saturday
The CBS show profiles the case of former Anna Maria Island restaurant owner David Viens, convicted of killing his wife, Dawn, and then boiling her body.
David Viens, the former Anna Maria Island restaurant owner convicted of killing his wife and boiling her remains, will be profiled Saturday night on the CBS news program, "48 Hours."
The show will be broadcast at 10 p.m. Saturday, May 4.

The case electrified the Florida Gulf beach communities where David and Dawn Viens had worked prior to moving to California.
The couple had operated the Beach City Market, at 1701 Gulf Drive, in Bradenton Beach, which is now closed. They also ran the Island Kitchen and Market, at 414 Pine Ave., Anna Maria Island.

Viens made national headlines when he confessed to murdering his wife and then cooking her body in a 55-gallon drum. He had been working as a chef in Lomita, Calif. The interrogation was recorded. Viens later represented himself in his courtroom trial.
In the "48 Hours" program, Viens is asked to tell his story. While Viens admits to killing his wife, he tells correspondent Richard Schlesinger it was an accident. Viens reportedly says in the interview that he taped his wife's mouth shut and bound her arms, after she screamed at him for throwing away her drugs.
