FDOT To Host Siesta Key Crosswalks Meeting
Florida Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting Monday, Sept. 17 about planned crosswalks on Midnight Pass Road.

A little bit of good news came forth Thursday about the planned construction of on Siesta Key's Midnight Pass Road: Don't expect traffic jams during the road work.
The project is expected to begin Monday, Sept. 24 and take 45 days to complete, but the work won't happen every day, said Siesta Key Association President Catherine Luckner.
"It should not be a problem for traffic for anybody that's here," she said.

The Florida Department of Transportation will host an open house-style public information meeting about the crosswalks from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17 at . No formal presentation is planned.
The project calls for six crosswalks with flashing beacons, signing, pavement markings, a pedestrian islands and having the road resurface.

The $155,800 project will install the crosswalks on Midnight Pass Road between Stickney Point Road and Beach Road at:
