Those looking for a great spot to enjoy the great weather this summer, should check out this FL beach community, according to a new list.

SARASOTA, FL — Unsurprisingly, a Florida beach community has landed on a list from Condé Nast Traveler of the top 17 beach destinations on the East Coast.

The new list includes everything from "charming, historic New England towns to tropical Southern getaways."

The spots range from those perfect for family vacations to the shore to solo trips and group getaways.

"Whether you're looking to lay out on the sand in summer or prefer walking along the water spotting wildlife and collecting rocks, the shores of the East Coast have a little something for everyone," the list said.

Siesta Key, which is renowned for its beauty and “true tropical climate,” was Florida’s only beach community to make the cut.

The area is known for its three primary beaches: Siesta Beach, Crescent Beach and Turtle Beach.

“We want to laud Siesta Key in particular for its fine sand, which comes from the Appalachian Mountains and is made up almost entirely of cool and reflective quartz, its waterfront dining and drinking, and its excellence for water sports like parasailing,” according to the list.
