FL Gas Prices Drop To New Low for 2023 Ahead Of Thanksgiving: AAA
As Florida drivers gear up for Thanksgiving travel plans, gas prices in the state have dropped to a new low for the year, AAA said.
FLORIDA — As nearly 2.8 million Florida drivers gear up for Thanksgiving travel plans, gas prices have dropped to a new low for the year ahead of the holiday.
The average price per gallon is $3.04, which is the lowest daily average since late December 2022, as of Wednesday, according to AAA.
It’s also 37 cents less than what drivers paid last Thanksgiving, which was $3.41 per gallon.

The most expensive metro markets for gas in the Sunshine State are West Palm Beach-Boca Raton with an average price of $3.28 per gallon, Naples with an average of $3.19 per gallon and Tallahassee with an average of $3.17.
The least expensive markets for gas in the state are Pensacola with an average price of $2.88 per gallon, Crestview-Fort Walton Beach with an average of $2.90 per gallon and Panama City with an average of $2.98 per gallon.

"More than half of Florida gas stations now have gasoline priced below $3 a gallon," Mark Jenkins, spokesperson for AAA — The Auto Club Group, said. "While there could be some fluctuations in the coming weeks, AAA expects gas prices to remain low through the holidays, unless oil prices suddenly spike."
The plummeting price of oil has been a big factor in the recent plunge in prices at gas stations, AAA said. Crude oil fell from $93 a barrel in late September to $72 a last week. During that same time, the state average dropped from $3.69 per gallon to $3.04 per gallon.
