Florida's Gulf Snook Season Reopening
The season has been closed for three years, since an unusually cold winter killed 15 percent of the snook population in Florida.

Snook season in Florida's Gulf waters will re-open on Sept. 1, 2013, after a three-year ban limited anglers to catch-and-release only.
The Ledger reports that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission voted on Wednesday to re-open the season off the Gulf coast in Florida.
The commission also decided that bonefish and tarpon will be limited to catch-and-release. That rule takes effect on Sept. 1.
