Golden Apple Dinner Theatre Is 'All Shook Up'

Weekend events include the Golden Apple DInner Theatre's first show as a non-profit entity, "All Shook Up."

1. Rock 'n' roll fills a love story of an interracial couple during the 1950s filled with hits by Elvis Presley. All Shook Up is a musical ode to the Shakespeare Twelfth Night storyline, and it's now playing at the , which has reinvented itself as a non-profit that offers workshops and more. The show is 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday, noon on Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

2. Get outdoors to watch some championship golf. The general public can gain access to The Ritz-Carlton and Sara Bay golf courses next week for the 66th Florida Open Championship. Over the first two days - Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21 - participants will play 18-holes on each course. Sixty players will remain on Sunday for the final round at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. Play starts each day at 8 a.m. with the clubs opening for spectators at 7 a.m. Parking and admission is free. Food and beverage will be available for a fee. Some restrictions will apply, according to the tournament. The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club is located at 15140 70th Terrace East, Lakewood Ranch, and Sara Bay is located at 7011 Willow St., Sarasota.

3. Throw back a few brews for a good cause at from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday. Proceeds go to Beyond The Spectrum, which is a therapeutic clinic and education center for children with autism in east Manatee County and Sarasota. Spectrum is trying to buy therapy equipment for its programs. It's a cash bar only and additional donations are welcome. For more details, visit the event on Facebook.

4. Ladies, ladies, ladies, when's the last time you've been to a Bradenton Marauders game? Tonight's the night to go because at this Ladies Night, the team is giving away a $2,800 diamond pendant. It's a .77 carat diamond set in 14Kt white gold. Drink specials will be available for a boys night out, too, including select dollar drafts. The game against the Brevard County Manatees starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

5. Friday Fest kicks off at the tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m. This week's edition features country artist Adrian Ray. The event is free and family-friendly and is held outside, but in case of rain, it will be moved into the Grand Foyer inside the Van Wezel. You're not allowed to bring food or drinks, but there are vendors on hand that will be glad to sell you some grub and something to wash it down.
