Hit-and-Run Vehicle Sought by Florida Highway Patrol

Authorities are looking for a maroon vehicle with the Florida license tag, 882TBK.

State police are searching for the driver of a maroon vehicle, with Florida license tag 882TBK, whose vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run crash at Swift and Clark roads Sunday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the maroon vehicle, make unknown, was traveling north on Swift Road, just north of Clark Road, also known as State Road 72. The maroon vehicle, which was in the left lan,e suddenly changed into the right lane, striking the front left side of a vehicle already in that lane.

The maroon vehicle, which was an older car, then fled from the accident scne.

Genevieve Simpson, 21, of Sarasota was driving a 2012 Chevrolet, which was hit by the unknown vehicle. Simpson drove her vehicle off the roadway and contacted the Florida Highway Patrol.
