Hole In Road Shuts Down N. Tamiami Trail: Sarasota Police
The cause of a hole in the road that shut down a section of N. Tamiami Trail Monday afternoon is unknown, Sarasota police said.

SARASOTA, FL — A section of N. Tamiami Trail is closed Monday afternoon because of “a hole in the road,” Cynthia McLaughlin, public information officer for the Sarasota Police Department, told Patch.
All southbound lanes of the road are closed at 22nd Street, police wrote in a Facebook post. Officers are on the scene redirecting traffic.
The hole’s cause isn’t known yet, McLaughlin added. “We do not want to jump to conclusions until it is inspected.”
