Homeless Man Charged In Sarasota Home Invasion
Erik Bradley Brittain was captured in the 500 block of 30th Avenue East in Bradenton Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force following a warrant for his arrest.

A 31-year-old homeless man is being held without bond at Sarasota County Jail today after facing charges for a Sept. 15 home invasion.
Erik Bradley Brittain was captured in the 500 block of 30th Avenue East in Bradenton Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force following a warrant for his arrest, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies have searched for Brittain since Sept. 15 when they say Brittain entered a home on the 3700 block of Lokai Place in Sarasota Springs around 8 p.m. that night to talk to his friend's mother about her son's drug problem, but robbed her at gunpoint, demanding her pain medication, according to the sheriff's office.

Brittain grabbed the bag containing Xanax, Oxycodone and Dilaudid, and ran toward the door, pointing the gun at two other people as he left the house, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Brittain is charged with home invasion robbery with a firearm, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities say Brittain has an extensive criminal history with charges for armed trafficking in cocaine, child neglect and drug possession.
Brittain is also wanted in North Carolina on felony drug charges, according to the sheriff's office.
