FL ‘House Party’ Shooting Victims Identified

Two men were shot, one fatally, during a "house party" at a Sarasota home early Saturday morning, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said.

SARASOTA, FL — Investigators have identified the two victims of an early Saturday morning shooting at a house party in Sarasota, authorities said.

Sambo Ung of Sarasota died from his injuries in the shooting, according to a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The other male victim was identified as Tony J. Register, also of Sarasota.

Deputies responded to a disturbance at the home in the 2200 block of Hammock Place just before 3 a.m., according to a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office news release. They learned that two people were shot during an altercation at the home.

Following an extensive search of the crime scene over the weekend, detectives are reviewing surveillance video in the area hoping to locate and speak with those who were present during the party.
