What does this person teach?
GED Preparation
Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?
Ms. Marisi has been dedicated to students in the GED program for over 20 years. Many students are reluctant to come back to school to finish the equivalency because they weren't successful when they were in high school. Others join the class because they have come as an immigrant and weren't able to finish high school in their homeland or find it almost impossible to retrieve their transcripts because they may be from war-torn countries such as Haiti or the Ukraine.
Regardless of a student's circumstance, Ms. Marisi seems to find the right words of encouragement and appropriate educational programming for each student as an individual. She has a welcoming classroom environment and instills hope in all of her students. A large board documenting photos of Ms. Anita's graduates over the years hangs in her classroom and is a testament to the success rate of students under her tutelage.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?
Ms. Anita will not give up on a student!
