Man Arrested for Fleeing Accident, Pot Possession
Man led sheriff's deputies on a short chase on Beneva Road.

A 23-year-old man is facing multiple charges tonight after he led Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies on a pursuit that ended in a crash.
Deputies arrested Travis M. Potter on charges of driving on a suspended license with knowledge, three counts of leaving the scene of an accident an possession of marjuana with intent to deliver, according to a report issued by the sheriff's office.
Deputies responded at about 7:21 p.m. tonight to an accident where a car didn't stop to report the crash. Deputies spotted the car matching the description and tried to stop it at Proctor and Beneva roads.

Deputies said the car continued through the intersection and through the Bee Ridge Road intersection where the car struck three cars causing minor damage, the report said.
The suspect's vehicle came to a stop when it hit a curb and was disabled at Beneva Road and Riviera Drive.

The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended by deputies.
