Man Found Shot To Death In FL Shopping Plaza

VENICE, FL — A man was found shot to death early Tuesday in Court House Plaza in Venice, ABC 7 reported.

His body was found at 3980 South Tamiami Trail, between State Road 776 and Jacaranda Boulevard around 2 a.m., the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

A woman driving into the plaza around 1 a.m. saw the man, who had gunshot wounds on his shoulder and on his side at the time, but was still alive, she told ABC 7.

“I said ‘Hey are you OK?’ He was breathing really shallow so I called 911,” she said.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the shooting.
