Man Thrown From Motorcycle Dies In Sarasota Crash: FHP
A speeding motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle and died in a Sarasota crash Friday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
SARASOTA, FL — A speeding motorcyclist was killed Friday night in a Sarasota crash, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old Sarasota man, was traveling on U.S. 41 in the left lane, approaching the intersection with Landings Boulevard, around 11:30 p.m.
At the same time, a car driven by a 43-year-old Sarasota man was heading north on U.S. 41 in the left turn lane approaching the same intersection.

As the car made a left turn onto Landings Boulevard and began to travel across the southbound lanes of U.S. 41, it was hit by the motorcycle in the intersection, FHP said.
The driver was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
