Man Tried to Run Over Stragglers Bar Owner

An argument between the owner of Stragglers bar and another man led to gunfire and an attempt to run over the owner Monday night.

Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies responded to Stragglers, 5580 Swift Road, at 6:30 p.m. Monday for an argument between bar owner James Wilbert and Sean M. Kilduff, 40.

Deputies said Kilduff left the bar, got into a car and rammed into the building. He allegedly tried to trun over Wilbert and another person, according to a sheriff's office report, and Wilbert responded by shooting at the car. No one was hurt during the incident, sheriff's office said.

Kilduff is charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief, according to the sheriff's office.
