Meta-backed gaming company leases industrial space in North Venice

Combat Waffle Studios Inc., a veteran-owned gaming software company backed by Meta, has leased a 23,349-square-foot industrial space at 195 Triple Diamond Blvd. in Nokomis. The company is experiencing rapid growth fueled by its hit VR extraction shooter game, “Ghosts of Tabor,” which has grossed over $20 million in sales in just over two years.

The space was previously occupied by Tervis, which vacated the property in January as part of the company’s consolidation. The campus totals over 100,000 square feet. Nick DeVito II, SIOR, and Brie Tulp, RPA, SIOR, of Ian Black Real Estate represented the landlord, 201 Triple Diamond Holdings, LLC.

“This building was originally built as an office building to be used as a sales center,” said Nick DeVito II, partner at Ian Black Real Estate. “Only recently did the prior owner convert the space to a warehouse because of the ceiling height, so the interior of the building remained for it to be used as an office.”

Combat Waffle Studios was previously in a 7,000-square-foot industrial office space located at 105 Triple Diamond Blvd, Suite 102 in Nokomis.

The new space will provide ample room for development meetings, VR testing areas, motion capture and security-focused development zones. The property was also pre-wired for fiber-optic internet, which is essential for real-time collaboration, large data transfers, and cloud-based development. Combat Waffle Studios plans to complete minor renovations to the new space before moving in.

Founded in 2022, Combat Waffle Studio’s “Ghosts of Tabor” quickly reached #1 on the top sellers’ list for SteamVR and the top #11 in the top sellers list of all Steam games; it is also a top selling title on the Meta Quest Store since launch. The company has a growing portfolio of VR experiences in development for SteamVR and Meta Quest platforms, including new titles “Wilds of Kanto” and “Nightstalker's.”

The company is also developing downloadable content for “Ghost of Tabor” and advancements in anti-cheat technology with Tomahawk Anticheat. Also driving the company’s growth are a growing player base, increasing demand for high-quality VR experiences, and partnerships with platforms like Meta and SteamVR.
