Motorcyclist Critically Injured In 4-Vehicle Hit-And-Run Crash: FL Highway Patrol
A driver left a Sarasota crash site after hitting a man who was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the road, FL Highway Patrol said.
SARASOTA, FL — A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday night in a hit-and-run crash involving four vehicles on Fruitville Road, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Two cars were heading east on Fruitville Road, one behind the other, approaching Vic Edwards Drive around 8 p.m.
At the same time, the motorcyclist, a 64-year-old Sarasota man, was driving west on Fruitville Road, with another car driving behind him at a distance in the same direction.

When the first car heading east tried to make a left turn onto Vic Edwards Drive, it drove in front of the approaching motorcycle, which hit the car’s right side, FHP said.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle, which continued forward and hit the other car heading east on Fruitville Road. The motorcyclist landed in the travel lanes.

The third car hit the motorcyclist, who was critically injured and brought to an area hospital.
The driver of the third car left the crash site and is unknown, FHP said.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run car or driver is asked to contact state trooper at *FHP or Crime Stoppers of Sarasota County.
The other two car drivers, a 45-year-old Sarasota woman and a 40-year-old Sarasota woman, were uninjured in the crash.
