Just What Is the Mystery Behind the Tattooed Man?

Sarasota Police say they now know the identity of the man in this photo, which was publicized by the media on June 5.

But on Thursday, police declined to say why they are seeking him or just what their investigation entails.

Here is what Sarasota Police said in a press release on Thursday, June 13:

"The investigation is continuing and charges are possible.  At this time, again due to the nature of the case, details are being withheld.

"Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department would like to thank the media for the help in getting the photograph out to the public and helping assist with the case"

In a previous press statement, police said that their case involves an incident at Lido Park in Sarasota that took place over the Memorial Day weekend. The shirtless man in the beach photo (see photo with this post) sports distinctive tattoos and clearly seems pleased by his image being caught on camera at the time.
