Orioles Spring Training Tickets on Sale Saturday
Tickets to the Baltimore Orioles spring training home games can be purchased at Sarasota area Walmarts.

Individual tickets for all 16 of the Orioles’ spring training games at will go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m.

The box office will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will then be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., from Modnay until Feb. 10. From Feb. 13 – April 2 the box office will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking is available in the East Lot, located on 12th Street and Tuttle Avenue.
• New this year, tickets can be purchased at select Sarasota area Walmarts through an agreement with Ticketmaster.
In addition to the sale announcement, the Orioles also announced that Baltimore-based Mid Atlantic Sports Network will broadcast Orioles Spring Training games and Baltimore's WBAL 1090 AM radio will also air games.
Officials here see that as some good promotion for Sarasota to folks in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, North Carolina and Delaware.
“The broadcast of Orioles spring training games back to the Mid-Atlantic market is a huge promotional bonus for Sarasota,” said Virginia Haley, president of the Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau in a press release.
“The three-hour broadcasts are often filled with images of beaches, shopping districts, marinas and other recreational activities, helping to promote the Greater Sarasota area as a true tourist destination.”
“Millions of households can learn about the beauty and attractions of theSarasota area by watching or listening to Orioles spring training broadcasts, creating an awareness that can lead to increased interest and tourism in the region,” said Greg Bader, Orioles director of communications.
“In addition to our local broadcasts, the Sarasota area also benefits from radio and television broadcasts of spring training games by the Orioles’ opponents to their regional audiences across the United States.”
Last season, the Orioles set an all-time Sarasota attendance record at Ed Smith Stadium with 115,506 fans over 16 games, including 10 sellouts.
The Orioles will play their first of 16 home spring training games in 2012 at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota on Monday, March 5 at 7:05 p.m. against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This year marks the third consecutive spring training for the Orioles in Sarasota, and the second in the renovated ballpark.
