Wells Fargo Robbery Suspect Arrested

Sarasota Police have arrested James Holderman Monday, just days after a standoff with police outside of his home.

have James Holderman under custody today after a outside of his home following a Wells Fargo bank robbery.

Sarasota officers Demetri Konstantopoulos and Jeffrey Steiner found Holderman at 2340 Bougainvillea St. and arrested him on a warrant for robbery, police said.

Holderman confessed to Det. Riffe for the robbery, police said. Holderman is being held in the Sarasota County jail.

Search warrants at the same location have resulted in the recovery of additional evidence linking Holderman to the robbery, police said.

The situation started at 4 p.m. when the Wells Fargo Bank at 2891 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota was robbed. Holderman entered the bank and presented a note demanding cash and implying that he had a weapon, police said.

Police had surrounded Holderman's home then entered it after obtaining a search warrant, only to find hours later that he wasn't there.

Holderman is a convicted felon with multiple previous convictions for armed robbery, police said.
