“Without fundraising efforts, we would never have been able to send 1500 animals home last year,” said Nate’s Honor Rescue events chairwoman, Jessica Ortiz. “It is because of events like this with such willing and capable partners and the generosity of the community that we can provide medical care to animals in need and find them the perfect forever home, thus opening up a place in our shelter for a dog or cat that would not have a chance at life otherwise.”

Manatee County has generously donated the hydrants and will also be sending out a firetruck for the day. Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers will be on site donating a percentage of proceeds of sales from its truck and both brick-and-mortar locations that day to Nate’s Honor Rescue. Jerry Bladdick, assistant vice president and director for Continuing Studies and Special Programs, Ringling College, and Mark Bolton will be sponsoring the art supplies. The firetruck and firefighters will be on site from 10 a.m. to noon for photo opportunities.
