Sarasota Art Museum To Offer Summer Programs For Teens

SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota Art Museum invite middle school and rising high school students to explore their creativity in its Summer Teen Studios program.

Teens in grades six through nine can take a variety of classes in drawing, painting, bookbinding, printmaking, ceramics and more throughout June and July.

Sarasota Art Museum also offers studio art classes for adults in the summer and throughout the year.

Instructors for Summer Teen Studios include current faculty and alumni from Ringling College of Art + Design as well as professional teaching artists.

Summer Teen Studios sessions will run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 to 4 p.m. Deadlines to register are based upon course session dates.

Participants interested in courses offered during the first session, which will be held June 6-10, must register by Friday, June 3. Students may register for both morning and afternoon sessions and either purchase lunch at The Bistro or bring their own lunch.

Adults of all ages and abilities can also take studio arts courses at The Studios at Sarasota Art Museum this summer and throughout the year.

Courses are held in the Paul Rudolph Vocational Shops building, which includes the Peggy A. Hall painting and drawing studio, the Sarah F. Huisking tabletop studio, and the Linda & Dick Dickinson ceramics studio with eight wheels and three kilns.
