SARASOTA, FL — Sarasota cops are hoping to "Pack the Patrol Car" with donated school supplies ahead of the county's first day of school on Aug. 12.

"Before students head back to class, the Sarasota Police Department, in partnership with the community, wants to Pack the Patrol Car with school supplies for the upcoming school year for the third year in a row," explained the department's Genevieve Judge.

Supply supplies can be dropped off from in the lobby of the Sarasota Police Department between 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. now through Aug. 2. The police station is located at 2099 Adams Lane.

"During the inaugural 'Pack the Patrol Car' event in 2017, more than 2,300 school supplies were donated by the community," judge said.
