Sarasota County Schools 2017-18 Calendar

SARASOTA, FL — While most kids might say it’s way too early to consider talking about next school year, parents know better. Those first bells will ring soon enough, and that means it’s time to start getting ready.

Parents who want to get a jump start on planning their schedules for the academic year ahead will find Patch has them covered. Here are the important dates for kids enrolled in Sarasota County Schools for the 2017-18 academic year:

• First day of school – Aug. 14
• Labor Day holiday – Sept. 4
• End of first quarter – Oct. 13
• Non-student day – Oct. 16
• Thanksgiving holiday – Nov. 22-24
• End of second quarter – Dec. 21
• Non-student day – Dec. 22
• Winter break – Dec. 25-Jan. 5, 2018
• Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday – Jan. 15
• Presidents Day holiday – Feb. 19
• End of third grading period – March 13
• Non-student day – March 16
• Spring break – March 26-30
• Last day for students – May 24
