Sarasota Farmers Market Canceled Due To Inclement Weather

SARASOTA, FL — For anyone looking to stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables from the Sarasota Farmers Market will have to wait until next Saturday.

According to organizers, due to inclement weather, the farmers market will be closed.

"We look forward to connecting as a community again on Saturday, March 19!" organizers said via Facebook.

Saturday's weather forecast in Sarasota calls for showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall, weather experts warn.

Temperature is expected to rise near 78 degrees by 10 a.m., then fall to around 61 degrees during the remainder of the day.
