Accused FL Hit-And-Run Driver Arrested At Airport Trying To Leave State
A MT man accused of leaving the scene of a crash in Sarasota was arrested at the airport Friday morning, FL Highway Patrol said.

SARASOTA, FL — A Montana man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Sarasota, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
Troopers responded to a hit-and-run on U.S. 41 on Thursday around 4:40 p.m.
In the crash, a Porsche Panamera driven by Steven T. Sigourney, 53, was heading north on U.S. 41 and approaching Osprey Point Drive at the same time an SUV, driven by a 76-year-old New Jersey woman, was stopped, facing north, on U.S. 41 for a red traffic light at the intersection, FHP said.

Sigourney didn’t slow down for the red light and hit the back of the SUV. After the crash, he left the scene in his car.
Investigators determined that Sigourney “exhibited signs of impairment” before leaving the scene and possibly had plans to fly out of state Friday morning, FHP said.

Sigourney was arrested at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport as he tried to fly back home to Montana with help from the Sarasota County Sheriffs Office, Sarasota Port Authority and Sarasota Airport Transportation Security Administration.
He was charged with leaving a crash scene involving property damage and reckless driving.
