Sarasota Hit-And-Run: Photos Released
Sarasota Police need help identifying a motorist accused of striking a pedestrian early Tuesday morning.
SARASOTA, FL — As the Sarasota Police Department continues to investigate a Tuesday morning hit-and-run crash that left a man in critical condition, authorities have released photos of the suspect vehicle.
According to the agency, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. April 11 at the intersection of North Pineapple Avenue and First Street. Police say a man in his late 20s was standing in the road when he was hit by a white Chevrolet Silverado, which then took off from the scene.
Police are not releasing the victim’s name at this time, and say it is unknown at this time why he was standing in the road. The man was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert following the crash. He remained in critical condition on Wednesday.

Police have yet to identify the driver of the Silverado, but have released surveillance photos of the vehicle detectives believe was involved in the crash.

Anyone with information about the truck or its driver is asked to call Officer Jason Frank at 941-364-7370. The truck is believed to have damage to its front left side.
