Sarasota Home Invasion Robbery Investigated
Sarasota Police say they are not sure if the Saturday night incident at a Rilma Avenue home involving masked men is related to another home invasion that happened that night on 38th Street.

Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred Saturday night at a Sarasota home.
According to authorities, two masked men entered a home in the 3800 block of Rilma Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday carrying weapons. The men demanded money and other items from three victims inside the home, then left.
One of the victims, a man, suffered a cut to the back of his head when he was hit by one of the suspects, police spokesperson Officer Linda J. DeNiro said in a media release. The other victims, a woman and man, were not injured.

Police said they are not sure if the incident is related to another home invasion robbery that happened the same night in the 1200 block of 38th Street.
In that incident, two masked men robbed a group of people in a home recording studio, according to police.

Authorities have not identified the suspects and say the investigation is ongoing.
