The Monday morning death of a Sarasota man following a single-vehicle crash on University Parkway remains under investigation.

SARASOTA, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 35-year-old Sarasota man on Monday morning.
According to the agency, Walker Shannon Abrams was driving a Dodge Intrepid westbound in the outside lane of University Parkway around 6:10 a.m. May 29. As Abrams approached the intersection with 37th Street East, troopers say he lost control of the vehicle and went onto the north shoulder. Abram’s Intrepid then struck a concrete culvert, a highway patrol report said.
Abrams was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries after the crash, but was pronounced dead at 11;28 a.m., the patrol reported. There was no one else in the car with Abrams at the time of the crash, the patrol said.
