A 32-year-old Sarasota man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Clark Road Friday night.

SARASOTA, FL — A Friday night single-vehicle crash on Clark Road claimed the life of a 32-year-old Sarasota man.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Mark A. Sprague was heading west on Clark Road around 9:48 p.m. Nov. 18 in a Ford F-350 truck. As Sprague traveled east of Hi-Hat Ranch Boulevard, troopers say he lost control of the truck while exiting a left-hand curve in the road.

Sprague’s truck left the road and went onto the shoulder, a highway patrol report said. Troopers say he then overcorrected, drove across the roadway and onto the southern shoulder. The truck struck several trees and a fence before coming to a stop.
