Sarasota Man’s Caspersen Beach Death Under Investigation

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has identified a man whose body was found Monday.

SARASOTA, FL — As the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the Monday death of a man whose body was recovered after a distress call came in from a boat off Caspersen Beach, some details in the case have been released.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man has been identified as Bradley A. Blake, 44, of Sarasota.

Blake’s body was recovered after the sheriff’s office received a distress call from a boat off Caspersen Beach around 11:59 a.m. May 8. The sheriff’s office and several other agencies responded. First responders brought two people to shore. The second person has not been named.

The medical examiner’s office has said the preliminary cause of Blake's death is drowning. The case remains under investigation.
