Sarasota PD Announced as Finalist for Community Policing Award
The announcement came Tuesday, Oct. 4 from the International Association of Chiefs of Police and Cisco.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police and Cisco announced Tuesday, Oct. 4 that the Sarasota Police Department is a finalist for the 2016 IACP/Cisco Community Policing Award. The award recognizes outstanding community policing initiatives worldwide.
The Sarasota Police Department is only one of six agencies internationally to be selected as a finalist. Entries demonstrated the meaningful change that can occur when law enforcement officials and their communities utilize available resources for crime prevention and improvement of quality of life.

“This is a great honor for the Sarasota Police Department,” said Chief Bernadette DiPino. “If it was not for our Officers continuous professional and dedicated commitment and service and the partnership with our community, we would not have received this prestigious recognition. This is an international competition and highly difficult to achieve. I’m so proud of our agency.”
