Sarasota Police Officer Injured In Motorcycle Crash
A Sarasota police officer was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital Friday morning following a crash of the officer's police motorcycle.

SARASOTA, FL — A Sarasota police officer was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital Friday morning following a crash involving the officer's police motorcycle.
"Regarding any other details about the officer, those are not being released at this time," the agency's Genevieve Judge told Patch. "The crash remains under investigation."
The crash happened around 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 301 and Ringling Boulevard.

"The preliminary crash investigation shows a vehicle hit the back of a Sarasota Police motorcycle at the intersection," Judge said.
Sarasota police said the officer's injuries were not life threatening. The driver of the other vehicle remained on the scene and was being cooperative with police.

Traffic was disrupted for a time but all lanes reopened later in the morning.
