Sarasota Shootout Video Released By Cops

The Sarasota Police Department has released video of two cars involved in a Monday afternoon shootout.

SARASOTA, FL — As the Sarasota Police Department continues to investigate a Monday afternoon shootout between people inside two different cars, detectives have released surveillance video. They’re asking anyone who might recognize the vehicles to contact them.

The shooting in question unfolded around 3:30 p.m. June 19. Police received multiple calls about two vehicles chasing each other eastbound on 32nd Street and then north on North Washington Boulevard while trading shots with each other.

“No one was injured, but there was property damage caused by bullets in the 3000 block of North Washington Boulevard,” the police department noted in an email to media.

The vehicles involved in the shooting are described as:

  • As newer model Chevrolet Malibu that is gold in color and has dark tinted windows
  • A newer model white Toyota Camry with dark tinted windows

Witnesses say there were at least two people inside each of the involved cars.
