Sarasota Swimmer Emma Weyant Wins Bronze At Paris Summer Olympics
University of FL swimmer Emma Weyant, who is from Sarasota, won a bronze medal at the Paris Summer Olympics.
PARIS, FRANCE — Sarasota swimmer Emma Weyant took home the bronze medal in the women’s 400-meter individual medley for the United States Monday at the Paris Summer Olympics.
She finished with a time of 4:34.93.
American swimmer Katie Grimes won the silver medal in Monday’s race, while Canadian Summer McIntosh won the gold.

The 22-year-old, who swims for the University of Florida, previously won a silver medal in the same race, which features the butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle, at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2021.

Weyant was the top seed going into Monday’s race after winning the 400-meter individual medley heats and beating Grimes by .97 seconds, KTSM said.
