FL Sex Offender Accused Of Trying To Lure Girl, 13, Who He’s Been Stalking, Into Vehicle
A sex offender was accused of trying to lure a 13-year-old girl who he has been stalking into his vehicle, Sarasota police said.
SARASOTA, FL — A registered sex offender was arrested after trying to lure a 13-year-old girl into his vehicle Sunday night, according to a Sarasota Police Department news release.
Mark McGoldrick was charged with aggravated stalking of a child under 16, and loitering and prowling by a sexual offender close to children.
The girl was able to record the encounter with McGoldrick on video before fleeing and later identified him in a photo lineup, police said.

Detectives learned that McGolddrick has reportedly been stalking the same girl throughout the past year, often approaching her at her school bus stop when she was alone, the department said.

McGoldrick was taken into custody at his home and is being held at the Sarasota County Jail.
