Siesta Key Reality Show To Debut On MTV

MTV is bringing its cameras to Siesta Key for a reality show that airs this summer.

SIESTA KEY, FL — Siesta Key is in the national spotlight again. After earning accolades for having one of the best beaches in the world, the community will now serve at the center of its own reality show. MTV has announced plans to debut “Siesta Key” later this summer.

The cable network teased the show’s upcoming release during its MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday. The prospect was also mentioned in an Adweek profile on MTV president Chris McCarthy. The show from the same network responsible for “Teen Mom” and “My Super Sweet 16” will reportedly feature college students who call the community home.

The show is being designed in the “vein of The Hills about a group of kids in an elite Florida enclave who return home for the summer after spending their freshman year in college,” according to Adweek. It is reportedly unscripted and shouldn’t involve a rating beyond PG-13, several media outlets have reported.

Further details have not yet been released, but shooting is ongoing.
