The owner of Mangosteen and Glass Noodle is opening a new restaurant at 1601 Central Ave., according to I Love the Burg.

Sean Thongsiri plans to open Plate Sushi Grill and Lounge by May 1.

A sister location in Tampa is set to open by mid-April.

Melting Pot Sets Opening Date

Melting Pot is reopening in its new location at 699 Central Ave. on April 7, St. Pete Rising reported.

It initially closed its original restaurant, which operated for more than 30 years, on 4th Street N. in 2020.

The new 4,900-square-foot location is managed by Tampa-based Front Burner Brands.

Beach Wine Bar Relocating to Downtown St. Pete

Sip, a wine and bar shop in St. Pete Beach, is relocating to downtown St. Petersburg, St. Pete Rising said.

It will close its current location at the end of March and move into a 700-square-foot space on the ground floor of the 5th Ave Loft Apartments at 442 2nd Street N.

The space was previously occupied by Must Wine Loft.

Sunshine City Tavern Opens Its Doors

Chef Ted Dorsey’s Sunshine City Tavern opened its doors Monday at 4351 4th Street N. in the former Oaks on 4th location.

The 3,700-square-foot space pays tribute to 1990s St. Petersburg.

The restaurant is currently hiring hosts and serving assistants, according to its website.
