SUV Slams Into Sarasota Home; Driver Faces Multiple Charges

A 37-year-old Sarasota man was taken into custody Thursday night after allegedly losing control of an SUV and crashing into a home.

SARASOTA, FL — A 37-year-old Sarasota man was taken into custody Thursday night after allegedly losing control of an SUV and crashing into a home.

Lousner Silencieux was charged with driving with a license suspended with knowledge, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and hit and run crash.

"Five people were seen running from the vehicle," Genevieve Judge of the Sarasota Police Department said Friday morning. "Officers contacted the five people on Lemon Avenue and determined the driver of the vehicle was Silencieux."

Lousner Silencieux was accused of driving an SUV into the front of a home.

Judge said Silencieux had a suspended driver’s license and was in possession of cocaine. The crash occurred shortly after 9 p.m. in the 1400 block of Myrtle Street.

The SUV was heading west on Myrtle Street when it crossed railroad tracks and went into the front yard of the home before crashing into the front of the structure. The vehicle had extensive damage.

"The garage of the home sustained structural damage," according to Judge.
