SWAT Team Arrests Teen For Gun Possession: Sarasota Police

A 19-year-old was arrested and charged with being an adjudicated delinquent in possession of a firearm, Sarasota police said.

SARASOTA, FL — A 19-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning at a South Tuttle Avenue apartment by the Sarasota Police Department SWAT team on firearm-related charges, authorities said.

The SWAT team carried out a warrant at the apartment around 5:20 a.m. following “an investigation into the unlawful possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent,” police said in a news release.

During their search, detectives found a 9mm semi-automatic handgun inside one of the apartment’s bedrooms.

Fabian Rodriguez was taken into custody and charged with being an adjudicated delinquent in possession of a firearm.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the investigation, which is ongoing.
